Parent & Family Support

At Tend, parent and family support is about slowing down and paying attention—to connection, to patterns, to the emotional undercurrents that move through family life. Support isn’t about fixing families or getting things “right.” It’s about creating space for understanding, repair, and growth, wherever you are in your family’s story.

Beyond the Playroom

Supporting Parents as an Essential Part of their Child’s Play Therapy Journey

When a child is in play therapy, parents are often holding many things at once—hope, worry, curiosity, and the quiet wondering of what might unfold. As children explore their inner worlds through play, we stay connected with parents through regular, gentle check-ins—spaces to share observations, wonder together, and reflect on what may be taking root for your child and within your family. These conversations center relationship: tending to your child’s story with care, nurturing moments of connection and repair, and helping parents feel steadier and supported as growth begins to unfold in its own time. You don’t need to have it figured out. Your presence and love are already doing important work.

Individual Therapy for Parents & Family Members

Individual therapy offers caregivers and family members a space that is just for you. A place to pause, to listen inward, and to gently explore what lives beneath the surface of daily responsibilities.

This Work May Include:

  • Perinatal and postpartum support

  • The emotional weight and identity shifts of caregiving

  • Supporting teens and tweens as they grow and change

  • Feelings of overwhelm, grief, anxiety, or disconnection

Individual therapy can help you reconnect with your own sense of grounding and clarity, making space for more choice, softness, and presence in your relationships.
